Questions
1. What happens if you don't reach your goal?
-This film will be made no matter how much money we raise.
2. How long will the film be?
-The film will be between 5-7 minutes long, excluding 1 minute of ending credits.
3. Why can't you write the script before you start?
-When the 72 hour film begins, we will be given specific elements to include in our script. This includes a character name, occupation, line of dialogue, prop, and 2 genres to pick from. These elements can affect our final script in a number of ways, so we start the writing process when we receive these elements.
4. How does a 72 hour film work?
-On the night of Friday, November 13th, we will receive the elements required to include in the script. Once the script is finished, we will start planning our production which begins the following day. We shoot for an entire day and take it through the editing process. Once editing is complete, we'll have the music composed, audio mixed, any VFX created, and the film will be colored. By the end, we will have a completed film!
5. Does the film just have to be shot in 72 hours?
-The film has to be written, shot, edited, and completed within 72 hours.
6. How do you decide on what kind of film to create?
-It starts with the script. I trust my writer, Isaac Smith, to use the materials given to him to write a strong story. When he completes his script, we discuss the visions we share on how to bring the story to life in the best way possible.
7. What happens if you don't finish within 72 hours?
-For the past three years, the films I've worked on have been completed within 72 hours. With our production schedule, we've arranged it so the film will be completed within 72 hours.
8. What are some of the biggest obstacles in creating a 72 hour film?
-The biggest obstacle in creating a 72 hour film is time. We have an incredibly short time to write the script, and our one day of filming will be filled with people working hard to get every shot we want. It all starts with the story. If we can't create a compelling story, the rest of our production may not be as strong.
9. Is there a limit to how many people can be involved?
-There is no limit to how many people can be involved.
